CM Punjab Paid a Surprise Visit to the Shelter Home at Thokar Niaz Baig

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar paid a surprise visit to the Shelter Home at Thokar Niaz Baig after his visit to Jinnah Hospital and met with the people staying there. He also visited the kitchen and check the standard of dinner being prepared for the people staying at Panahgah by eating it himself. He appreciated the standard of Biryani and Zarda. He also inquired from the inmates staying in Panahgah about the facilities being provided to them on which they informed the Chief Minister that they are satisfied over the above-said facilities. In response to Chief Minister’s question about the timing of dinner, the people told him that the same was served after Isha and its standard is also good. Usman Buzdar also inspected the various rooms of Panahgah. He said that welfare projects like Panahgah is one of the unique initiatives of PTI government. So far approximately three lakh people have stayed at Panahgahas. He said that providing shelter to impecunious strata is the responsibility of the state. Scope of welfare projects like Panahgahas are being extended throughout the province. Commissioner Lahore Division, Secretary Social Welfare and concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.
