Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has said that under Naya Pakistan Housing Project PTI government is providing houses to the people in a transparent manner. There is no quota in Naya Pakistan Housing Project. Houses are being allotted to the applicants on merit after a transparent balloting process. This was stated by him while addressing the participants of the balloting ceremony of Naya Pakistan Housing Project in Renala Khurd district Okara. Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that the second phase of Naya Pakistan Housing Project will soon be launched in Okara. The scope of the program will be extended to the villages as well. He said that targets have been given to the ten development authorities to construct houses. He said that it is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan that every homeless of Pakistan have a home. Naya Pakistan Housing Project will be inaugurated on weekly basis in tehsils and districts of the province. PTI government is about to launch Naya Pakistan Housing Project in ten major cities of the Punjab.
He strongly contradicted the speculations and doubts being spread about this program. He said that PTI government is strictly following the PEPRA rules in the biding affairs from the beginning of this project. He said that the list of the allotees will be provided to the media. Those who were the so-called champion of democracy in past and the founder of Aashiyana Housing scheme are now facing cases in the NAB.
