Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that Nawaz Sharif has been completely looked after for treatment in hospital. She expressed these views while addressing in a press conference being held at DGPR Head Office today. Dr Yasmin Rashid on this occasion said that Nawaz Sharif was being discharged from hospital on 6th November and all his medical reports were being shared with his personal physician Dr Adnan. Excellent required treatment facilities were being ensured for Nawaz Sharif in hospital. Nawaz Sharif’s medical condition was being informed to the media during his treatment in the hospital and also apprised media about problems being confronted by the doctors for undergoing his treatment. Nawaz Sharif’s disease was being diagnosed timely and treatment started immediately. Nawaz Sharif had been injected platelets in order to increase platelets count to the maximum level and services of specialist Dr Tahir Shamsi from Karachi were being acquired for his treatment. On the instructions of Dr Tahir Shamsi, Nawaz Sharif was given steroids and his blood pressure and sugar level were not coming under control. Sugar level of Nawaz Sharif was never controlled and for this reason the dose of insulin had to be increased, she stated. Nawaz Sharif submitted his petition for bail after treatment and our doctors briefed the court in detail about his medical condition. Nawaz Sharif remained admitted in hospital willingly for three days after getting bail and wanted to leave the hospital after getting bail of Maryam Nawaz, she added. Nawaz Sharif after going home submitted an application to Interior Ministry for getting his treatment abroad and Interior Ministry sought report about his health from Provincial Health Department through a circular. Medical board in its reply to Interior Ministry through a circular stated that all details of Nawaz Sharif’s treatment are attached with his discharge slip. Interior Ministry again sought details about Nawaz Sharif’s health by another circular and stated that it should be informed about sending Nawaz Sharif abroad. In this connection another meeting of medical board was held yesterday night in which members of medical board recommended for his treatment abroad due to non-availability of few tests in the country. Medical board was being asked about the details of non-availability of tests in Pakistan. Medical board meeting again held today and after getting details, Health Ministry Punjab will apprise Interior Ministry about the health details of Nawaz Sharif by a circular. Many complications arose during making up deficiencies of platelets count. Nawaz Sharif’s kidneys were also affected due to uncontrolled sugar and related complications. Doctors took special care of his health as it was in critical state. “Nawaz Sharif is my political rival but I directed to take his complete care during treatment as a patient”, she added. Nawaz Sharif was also provided with emergency ambulance 24 hours during his imprisonment at Kot Lakhpat Jail. Ambulance service was also provided to him when he was under custody of NAB. Governor Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also expressed their good wishes and prayed for his early recovery. No one can give complete health to any human being except blessings of Allah Almighty, she concluded.
