Sindh Cultural Day Celebrated at Alhamra

A spectacular event on Sindh Cultural Day was celebrated at Alhamra Hall 2 with traditional enthusiasm on 8th December 2019 at Alhamra Art Centre, the Mall. The program showcased the great performances of renowned Pakistani artists Sanam Marvi, Reshma Parveen, Shaukat Ali Sheikh, Ustad Barkat Ali and others which met immense applause from the audience. Cultural Secretary Sindh Akbar Laghari was the chief guest of the event. On the occasion, he said that, all areas of Pakistan, including Sindh and Punjab, possess high cultural history. He stated that, our all cultures are wonderful and are not exemplified; he also thanked the administration of Lahore Arts Council for this colorful annual event and said that Alhamra is an important institution which is playing a vital role in consolidating the culture of all the provinces of Pakistan. The event was a joint presentation of the Lahore Arts Council and Sindh Graduates Association, Lahore. Speaking at the event, General Secretary of Sindh Graduates Association Anwar Chandio said that we are very grateful to Alhamra’s administration who gave us the opportunity to perform on an active and dynamic platform. Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Ather Ali Khan has said that concrete steps are being taken to promote the beautiful culture of our all provinces.  He future said that, “Our beautiful areas and culture belongs to distinctive historical traditions and got distinction in contemporary world and to promote it is need of the time. Sindh Cultural day show has promoted the passion of unity, harmony and corporation. This cultural day is an annually celebrated in Sindh province on the first Sunday of December. To celebrate this day people wearing cultural dresses like Sindhi Topi and Ajrak. It was a very colorful event which was attended by a large number of audience.
