HR&MA Department Punjab Starts Celebrations of Human Rights Day

The Department of Human Rights & minority affairs Punjab has formally started two-day celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Human Rights, in this regard a painting competition among youth of various educational institutions held at Al.Hamra Hall on Monday. The youth very beautifully portrayed the brutality of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir in their pictures, were greeted by the audience. The ceremony was inaugurated by Secretary Human Rights Tariq Mehmood, while Director Mohammad Yousuf performed the duties of the host. The secretary Tariq Mahmood appreciated the process of creating images on the subject of Kashmir while encouraged Youth to promote peace through education and art. He also distributed awards among first 5 position holders respectively, while distributed complimentary certificates to the rest of the youth. Later on talking to the media representatives, the provincial secretary said that the purpose of the event is to create a passion regarding human rights among the youth and to convey a message to the world through their art that we are peaceful and loving people but in Kashmir, humanity is facing difficulties and despite more than 126 days, innocent Kashmiris are deprived of all basic human rights, which is strongly condemnable. He said that peaceful efforts from Pakistan should not be considered our weakness and India should understand that cruelty eliminate one day.
