Minister for Trade & Industries Chairs Meeting of Taskforce for Price Control

Provincial Minister for Trade and Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired the meeting of taskforce for price control at CM Office on Monday and reviewed different matters including monitoring of essential items and performance of price control magistrate. Addressing the meeting, Mian Aslam Iqbal said that prices have been stabilized due to effective implementation of price control mechanism and different efforts made by the government. However, he pointed out that there are complaints of sale of essential items in backward areas at higher rates and directed the administration to improve the situation at the grassroots. He asked the consumers to download Qeemat Punjab Application to remain aware about the prices of different items. Prices of essential items are daily uploaded at Qeemat Application and the people should not pay more than the fixed price, he added. The people should also lodge their complaints at 0800-02345. He made it clear that delay in the solution of complaints will not be tolerated and action will be taken against the concerned officials. He disclosed that online home delivery system will start working in five major cities of the province by January 2020 adding that places have been identified for setting up new model bazaars in 17 districts. The minister also expressed indignation over failure in proper activation of Kisan Platforms in model bazaars and directed that a report should be submitted soon after activation of Kisan Platforms in all the model bazaars. The meeting was attended by DG Industries, DGPR and high officials of concerned departments.
