Punjab Information Commission Says Farewell to Outgoing Officer

A farewell ceremony was held by Punjab Information Commission in honor of the outgoing Deputy Director Ahmed Naeem Malik and Assistant Director Bilal Shahbaz in which Chief Information Commissioner Mahboob Qadir Shah, Information Commissioners Saeed Akhtar Ansari and Hassan Iqbal and staff were also present. The three commissioners paid tribute to the services of the outgoing officers and said that in the beginning, the role of the officers and personnel is the key to the strengthening of the institutions, which both officers have played well. Appreciating the services of Deputy Director Public Relations Abdul Wahid, who attended the special invitation at the event, the Chief Information Commissioner said that Abdul Wahid as a Section Officer played a key role in the preparation, approval and enactment of the Punjab Transparency & Right to Information Act 2013 commissioning of the Commission and the disposal of its financial and administrative matters therein. Ahmad Naeem Malik thanked the commissioners and said that RTI law was very important for eliminating corruption and promoting transparency within the government departments and that the current commissioners have dealt with thousands of past and present applications by working hard day and night. The Commission has become a strong institution. He said that Punjab Information Commission is currently at the forefront of the country in terms of performance on RTI which has successfully assisted in getting requested information from government departments by thousands of citizens. At the end of the ceremony, the three officers were given commemorative shields by the commissioners.
