UN Secretary General Assures Complete Support to Pakistan

Secretary General of the United Nation Antonio Guterres assured complete support to Punjab for Anti-polio efforts here on Tuesday. Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid received the worthy guest at the DHA Kindergarten School where he administered polio drops to children. Present at the occasion were Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Captain (Retd.) Usman Younus, Director DHA Brig Rahil Ashraf, UN officials, Director DHA and officials of the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department. The Minister welcomed the UN Secretary General for his much awaited visit to Punjab. Children dressed in traditional attire presented flower bouquet to the visiting gust who also recorded his comments in guest book on the occasion. “We are making all out efforts to eradicate polio from Pakistan. The Prime Minister is committed to the provision of quality healthcare services in the country and we are working hard to achieve his dream. We have distributed Sehat Insaf Cards to in 36 districts of Punjab. We are providing these cards to disabled, transgenders and thalessemia patients as well. We have also started the largest Program for school children, the Chief Minister School Health and Nutrition Program. We are striving hard for a healthy future for all children,” the Minister said. Secretary General of the United Nation Mr. Antonio Guterres thanked the Health Minister for warm welcome and the hospitality. He said Pakistan is a safer country now compared with the situation some years back. He also assured complete support to Pakistan for the control of epidemics and diseases.
