Provincial Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat in which matters pertaining to relocating fish market and relevant recommendations came under review. General Secretary Fish Market Lahore Rai Muhammad Akhter apprised him about sewerage and other problems of fish market and requested him to provide a substitute place to relocate the fish market. He remarked that they would themselves undertake its construction work. The Minister while addressing the participants in the meeting disclosed that fish market will soon be relocated out of the city to some appropriate place and added that all possible facilities will be provided in the fish market for to doing business. Aslam Iqbal directed to submit the fish market relocation plan within one week and remarked that the model of Karachi fish market should also be reviewed while formulating the relocation plan. The Minister directed that sewerage and other problems of fish market must be resolved on preferential basis. Aslam Iqbal directed that steps be also undertaken to relocate truck stations out of the city. President LCCI Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Additional Secretary (I&T), Deputy Commissioner Lahore, representatives of fish market and concerned officers attended the meeting.
