Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has restored the frozen funds of Local Bodies Institutes. The Chief Minister has also announced a development package worth 13 billion rupees for Faisalabad and directed to initiate a crackdown against those posting videos and hateful speeches on social media. Sardar Usman Buzdar made a detail visit to Faisalabad yesterday and inaugurated Lyallpur Art & Craft Gallery soon after his arrival. The Chief Minister unveiled plaque of Lyallpur Art & Craft Gallery at Chinab Club Chowk and visited different sections of the gallery. Handicrafts made by the prisoners were exhibited in Lyallpur Art & Craft Gallery. Locally manufactured traditional dresses were also displayed in the gallery. The Chief Minister showed keen interest in the art pieces and inspected the locally manufactured carpets samples. Usman Buzdar while terming the establishment of Lyallpur Art & Craft Gallery as a good omen and said that this will greatly help to promote local culture. The gallery will play an important role for introducing the local handicrafts as national as well as international level. He said that projects like Lyallpur Art & Craft Gallery play an important role for the promotion of tourism as well. He said that Punjab will merge as a hub of tourism in future. Local handicrafts and fine arts will project soft image of Pakistan throughout the world. Commissioner Faisalabad gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister about the Lyallpur Art & Craft Gallery. Later, Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a special meeting at Circuit House Faisalabad where he was briefed about the arrangements made for Muharram-ul-Harram. RPO Faisalabad apprised the Chief Minister about the security arrangements. The Chief Minister while directing the crackdown against those who post hateful speeches and videos on social media said that foolproof security arrangements should be made on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Harram. No negligence will be tolerated in security measures during Muharram-ul-Harram, he added. He said that strict implementation on the code of conduct should be ensured during Muharram-ul-Harram. He said that concerned ministers will monitor the security arrangements of congregations and Majalis in their respective areas. While directing to ensure on corona SOPs in Majalis and congregations, Usman Buzdar directed that wearing masks and observance of social distance should strictly be followed during Muharram-ul-Harram. Commissioner Faisalabad briefed about the CM about ongoing and new development projects.
Usman Buzdar announced a special package of 13 billion for the development of Faisalabad city and said that problems like sewerage and potable water would be resolved on priority basis. Kashmir underpass will be completed as soon as possible, 50 crore rupees have been issued for this purpose. Similarly, funds of 50 crore rupees have also been released for Haseeb Shaheed Hospital. He said that identification of a land for Journalists Colony in Faisalabad has been completed. 187 kanal of land have been identified in Bismillahpur for this purpose. The promise of establishing Journalists Colony in Faisalabad will be fulfilled. He said that he wants to resolve every single problem of Faisalabad. He said that ten thousand new constable are been recruited in police whereas 600 new vehicles will soon be provided to the police department. Government has curb the political inference in police department and appointments are been made on merit. He directed police officers to work hard for overcoming crimes. He said appointment of the chairman of Faisalabad Development Authority, Faisalabad Solid Waste Management Company and PHA Faisalabad will be made soon. More than 1200 schools have been upgraded and more schools will be upgraded as well. Funds will be provided to solve the basic problems of Faisalabad city. Members National and Provincial Assembly informed the Chief Minister about the problems of their constituencies. The Chief Minister noted down the recommendations of assembly members and issued orders for their redressal. Usman Buzdar while announcing to restore the funds of Local Bodies Institutions said that this will start the new era of progress and development in the province. He said that the Deputy Commissioner will utilize the funds of Local Bodies with the consultation of public representatives. He said that the representatives of Local Bodies Institutions will be free to perform at grass root level. He said that special attention is being paid on the development projects in Southern Punjab. Usman Buzdar said that he is a Chief Minister of the province and anybody can meet him. All problems of the Faisalabad will be resolved. He said that the meeting with the business community of Faisalabad has remained fruitful. Peoples’ problems were discussed in detail with assembly member of Faisalabad. He said that flour rate in Punjab is less than other provinces. Usman Buzdar said that he will personally go to the field to review the price and availability of flour. Usman Buzdar said that he will soon visit the other cities of Punjab as well. He said that notification for 187 kanal land for journalists colony at Bismillahpur will soon be issued.
Earlier, Usman Buzdar laid a foundation stone of Samundari IT Sub-Campus of GC University Faisalabad which will be completed at a cost of rupees one billion. He laid a foundation stone Samundari IT Sub-Campus by performing the unveiling the plaque. Usman Buzdar said that it is his desire that every district of Punjab has university. He said that government wants to increase the opportunities of higher education for the youth. Provincial Ministers Hafiz Mumtaz Ahamd, Ajmal Cheema, Members National and Provincial Assembly, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Chairman Planning & Development, Additional Chief Secretary (Urbanization and Infrastructure), secretaries of concerned departments, Commissioner Faisalabad, RPO and other officials were also present on this occasion. Moreover, Chief Minister paid a surprise visit at the general store situated near Civil Lines and inspected the rate of essential items. The Chief Minister inquired about the price of 20 kg flour bag and checked the prices of sugar as well. The Chief Minister also inspected the prices of edibles and other commodities and pulses. The Shopkeeper said that I am pleased to see the Chief Minister in my store. Items are been sold at the rates fixed by the government, stated the shopkeepers. I will also personally check the prices of flour, sugar and other commodities in the whole of the province. Today I am in Faisalabad, tomorrow I will check the rate in some other cities. No one will be allowed overcharging, CM concluded.
