2% Quota Allots for Religious Minorities Minister HR&MA

Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine has said that MEP proved a flagship program for religious minorities under the leadership of Imran Khan, in fact, making a history across Punjab. The minister said that Specific subjects will be taught to religious minorities in prison as Muslims being taught while 2% quota has been allotted for religious minorities in all educational institutions affiliated to higher education across the Punjab. He said that all measures are being taken for religious minorities in the regime of PTI which were not seen in the past, which caused a sense of deprivation among religious minorities. These views were expressed by the provincial minister during a meeting with a delegation of religious minorities belonging to Sargodha at the office of New Minister Block on Tuesday. The delegation applauded the efforts of minister for the approval of 2% seats for religious minorities in the higher education sector. They also told to the minister that the university of Sargodha had issued the notification regarding quota at their website. The minister also highlighted the efforts of the ministry and said that various festivals such as Christmas, Holi and Baba Guru Nanak's birthday celebrations had been organized to alleviate the sense of deprivation among religious minorities with the help of an economic package of Rs 60 million. He further said that through Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) as many as 5000 non-Muslims youth of Punjab being trained through free skills training.
