Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid gave a deadline of one week to Medical Superintendant Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Pattoki Dr. Farooq Haider and MS THQ Hospital Chunian Dr. Akram Rehan here on Wednesday. Both the Medical Superintendents were served show-cause notices due to professional negligence. On directions from the Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Director-General Health Services Punjab Dr. Haroon Jehangir visited THQ Pattoki and THQ Chunian. The DG Health checked cleanliness, services and medical facilities, emergency and Operation Theatre. Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said, “The attendance of doctors must be ensured at any cost. Hospital waste must be disposed off according to SOPs. The licenses of Blood Banks must be immediately renewed. Next time, action will be taken against CEOs on poor management in hospitals. The situation must improve within one week and CEO Kasur Dr. Javed Akram must submit a report on improvements in THQ Pattoki and THQ Chunian. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has asked for stern action against MS found negligent in their duty. In case of negligence in treatment towards patients, disciplinary action shall be taken against the MS. The vaccination of staff serving Corona patients is currently underway. The upgradation of hospitals is being done to facilitate patients. The surprise visits of hospitals shall continue in public sector hospitals.
