Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed the performance of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute in an important meeting at the PKLI here on Wednesday. Present in the meeting were Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Barrister Nabeel Awan, Additional Secretary Development Dr. Asif Tufail, Chairman PKLI Board of Governors Professor Dr. Javed Gardezi, Dean PKLI Professor Dr. Faisal and Hospital Director Dr. Tazein Zia. The Health Minister reviewed the performance of the PKLI and Chairman BoG Professor Javed Gardezi shared update of the department. The Health Minister said, “The PKLI will be made a Teaching Institution and a nursing college will be set up as well. We will facilitate Pakistanis coming from abroad for surgeries at the PKLI.” Following the meeting, the Health Minister visited the PKLI vaccination Center. She said, “So far 8,500 people of 50-59 age group have been vaccinated. It is extremely encouraging to see people turning up in large numbers to get themselves registered and vaccinated. People must take preventive measures along with vaccination. We will have to beat Corona Pandemic. We have set of target of vaccinating 30,000 people. People must register themselves at 1166 or they may get information from 1033. People of 50-59 years of age must visit only after getting the vaccination code. Staff has been increased at vaccination centers. In order to avoid any inconvenience, people must visit the centers only with valid pin code and come to given centers.”
