Health Minister Reviews Development Schemes Under SH&ME Department

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed progress on different development schemes at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Monday. Present in the meeting were Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Amir Jan, Technical Advisor Ajmal Bhatti, Additional Secretary Development dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti, Dean Children Hospital Professor Masood Sadiq and Professor Javed Chaudhry. The Health Minister reviewed pace of work different development projects. Secretary SHME Amir Jan, Additional Secretary Development and Chief Planning Officer gave briefing to the Minister on the ongoing development schemes. In the new schemes new block at Mother and Child Block at Ganga Ram, Teaching Hospital Nishter-2 Multan, Construction Institute of Cardiology Dera Ghazi Khan, and Teaching Hospital Sheikh Zayed. The development budget 2021 includes 1000 bedded General Hospital, 200 bedded Mother and Child Hospital Sialkot, Emergency block in DG Khan Teaching Hospital and OPD and Zair Peer RY Khan Hub &Spoke pilot scheme are included. The schemes include University of Child Health, Dental College in Rawalpindi, Services Hospital Emergency, Linear Accelerator provision at Mayo Hospital, upgradation of Lady Willingdon Hospital and pathology lab project upgradation are part of the schemes. Dr. Yasmin Rashid said, “Secretary SH&ME has been directed to review the progress at these schemes. Monitoring of all schemes shall be done by the secretary himself. Mother and Child Block at Ganga Ram shall be complete by June 2021. Work on Nishter-2 Multan is ongoing at a fast pace. As per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we are trying to create top facilities for people of Punjab. Last governments did not plan according to increasing population of Punjab. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar have promised to provide best facilities to people of Punjab and the upgradation of public sector hospitals is ulfillment of their promises. Without new hospitals, the quality health services cannot be provided. By June 2022, many development schemes shall be completed.”
