Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar visited Rehmat-ul-Alamin Institute of Cardiology (RAIC). During the visit, the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the RAIC Automation Program. Chief Minister Usman Bazdar also inspected various departments CCU One and CCU Two. Chief Minister Usman Bazdar interacted with the heart patients admitted in the wards and inquired about the arrangements of the hospital and other matters. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the representatives of Punjab Social Security and Bank of Punjab in the presence of Chief Minister Punjab. Secretary Labor Liaqat Ali gave a detailed briefing on the steps being taken by the Labor Department for the betterment of the workers and their families. He said that the automation system would help the workers of Rehmat-ul-Aamin Institute of Cardiology Hospital to get rid of unnecessary documents. An online app has been launched for scholarship grant, death grant and marriage grant for the workers. He said that the process of automation would help to eradicate corruption and improve service delivery. Commissioner Social Security Syed Bilal Haider briefed about the features of Mazdoor Card and the benefits it would bring to the workers. For the first time in the history of Punjab, bank accounts of 1.1 million workers are being opened. In addition to health and financial benefits, there will be much more other benefits would be availed through Mazdoor Card. Workers will get 5 to 30 percent discount on purchases on more than 130 commercial outlets. The Commissioner Social Security said that through the Labor Card effective monitoring of monthly minimum wage of the workers would be ensured and in future the Labor Card would be linked to the Sehat Sahilat Card and various government loan schemes. He said that the implementation of Hospital Management Information in Rehmat-ul-Alamin Institute of Cardiology in 8 months is a historic step, he added. Rehmat-ul-Alamin Institute of Cardiology is the first government hospital in Punjab in which 100% automated and digitized. The Commissioner for Social Security said that soon heart transplant facility will be available for workers at RAIC. He further said that PESSI Cash Benefit mobile application has been implemented across Punjab. Through this App the cash benefit would be paid to the worker in his/her bank account or through easy paisa within ten days if filing the application. Provincial Minister for Labor Ansar Majeed Khan, Provincial Minister for Industries Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Commission Raja Yasir Humayun, President Bank of Punjab, Chairman PITB Azfar Manzoor, Chairman Punjab Social Security Health Management Company Khawaja Jalaluddin Rumi were also present on the occasion also attended the ceremony.
