The provincial minister for population welfare Col. Rtd. Hashim Dogar has said that the problem of rising population is included in the priorities of government. Premier Imran Khan has also taken keen interest in the matter from the very first day. He was addressing a policy and consultative round table session on population. The minister said that special task forces on population at provincial level have been formulated. The session was organised by planning and development board, GOP and non government organization Pathfinder. The session was attended by the representatives from various government and NGOs. The experts showed their concerns with regard to decline in the usage of contraceptives and it's consequences. While talking to the participants of table session, Col. Rtd. Hashim Dogar uttered that if we let this issue unattended then the population of Punjab will be double in the coming years. Buzdar government has doubled the budget of population welfare after apprising the sensitivity of this issue. All private sector organizations who deal with this matter must come up with practicable projects, this incumbent government will never hesitate to invest in them. As, cooperation of non government organizations is irreparable for the solution of this serious mounting issue.
