Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal came to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Lahore and met the President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Noman Kabir, Senior Vice President Rehman Aziz Chan, Vice President Haris Atiq and board members. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the circular issued by the State Bank regarding the import of machinery and its parts, increasing tariffs on water, electricity and gas and other problems faced by the industrialists. The provincial minister assured the resolving of problems related to the Punjab government of the industrialists. Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal said that a business-friendly environment has been created in Punjab and the problems of industrialists are being solved on a priority basis. The provincial minister said that the Ministry of Industries and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry must be on the same page to keep the wheel of industry moving. Chambers of Industry and Commerce will be given proper representation in the formation of boards regarding the industry. He said that 1450 new factories have been set up in small industrial estates in the last three and a half years. 100% colonization of industrial estates is the policy of the government. The provincial minister said that due to the increase in electricity and gas tariffs, industries are feared to be closed. Claiming to be business-friendly, the federal government should pay attention to the problems of Chambers of Industry and Commerce. There is also a need to restore the confidence of local investors. Mian Aslam Iqbal said that the flood has caused destruction everywhere and we have to work together to help and restore the flood victims. President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nauman Kabir said that the preparation of the new master plan of the city is a good initiative of the Punjab government. Implementation of the master plan will solve many problems of industrialists. President Numan Kabir said that Mian Aslam Iqbal has always been a strong voice of industrialists.
