Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid Chairs a Meeting in Department of Specialized Health and Medical Education

A meeting was held in the Department of Specialized Health and Medical Education under the chairmanship of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid. In the meeting, Special Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed, Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Hafiz Shahid Latif, Mian Zahid ul Rehman, Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ayaz, Vice Chancellor University of Child Health Sciences Professor Dr. Masood Sadiq, Vice Chancellor University of Health Sciences Dr. Ahsan Wahid Rathor, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Professor Nadeem Hafeez, Principal Services Institute of Medical Sciences Professor Farooq Afzal, Principal Amir ud din Medical College Professor Dr. Sardar Zafar Al Farid, CEO Punjab Institute of Cardiology Professor Bilal Mohi ud din, Executive Director Punjab Institute of Neurosciences Prof Khalid Mahmood, Director Institute of Public Health Dr Mohsin Ranjha, Managing Director Children Hospital Prof Muhammad Salim, Executive Director Burn Center Jinnah Hospital Prof Kamran Khalid, Dr Jawaria Asif, MS Jinnah Hospital Dr Yahya Sultan and all the government teaching of Punjab, heads of hospitals and MS participated through video conference. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed the emergency protocols, supply of medicines and referral system measures in government teaching hospitals in detail during the meeting. Vice Chancellors, Principals, Executive Directors and MSs presented valuable opinions and suggestions to Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid to ensure better treatment of patients in emergency. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that in the future, in case of negligence in the treatment of patients in any government teaching hospital of Punjab, the concerned head or MS will be held responsible. Even one percent negligence in the treatment of patients in any government teaching hospital of Punjab will not be tolerated. Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that 10 beds should be allocated immediately in the pediatric surgery of all the government teaching hospitals of Punjab. The special committee will present its suggestions after a week to improve the better treatment of patients in the emergencies of the government teaching hospitals of Punjab.  Hospitals built with taxes are only to provide better treatment to the people. Same protocols are being issued again for emergencies in all government teaching hospitals across the province. More than 90 thousand doctors, nurses and paramedical staff are being recruited in Punjab government hospitals.  Every patient coming to the government teaching hospital of Punjab will be provided with better treatment facilities. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid added that due to the increase in population, 23 new large government hospitals are being built in Punjab. No previous government had thought of building new government hospitals due to the increase in population. The heads of all the government teaching hospitals and MSs of Punjab are being given a final warning.  We are going to expand the burn center in Jinnah Hospital Lahore. New emergency departments of General Hospital, Jinnah Hospital and Services Hospital are being built in Lahore.
