Population Welfare Department observed United Nations Day on 24th October 2022. A cake cutting ceremony was organized to celebrate 77th anniversary of the United Nations and pay tribute to the United Nations for its contributions in Population Welfare, Health, Education, Gender Based Violence and Social Protection sectors.
The Director General Population Welfare Department Ms. Saman Rai said that “It is a great pleasure to celebrate the UN Day today as United Nations has brought different nations together for a common cause, including Pakistan. With over 3-decade-long journey of Population Welfare and United Nations, we have improved population welfare services across Punjab”.
The ceremony was attended by Director General Saman Rai, Program Manager (UNFPA) Shoaib Shehzad, Director A&F Shahid Nusrat, Director PME Dr. Zubda Riaz, Additional Director M&E Mrs. Bushra Naveed, Deputy Director IEC Muhammad Akhtar Bhatti and other officials of Population Welfare Department.
