Distribution of Funds Among Flood Victims Finalized: SMBR

Senior Member Board of Revenue/Relief Commissioner Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman has said that the process of distribution of funds for the financial assistance of the flood victims is going on. The line departments have ensured a transparent survey of the flood-damaged areas by going through difficult and difficult routes to access damaged areas. The process has been initiated by the Bank of Punjab and 25 branches of the Bank of Punjab in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Isa Khel ensuring the distribution of funds to the flood victims. Special counters have been set up for the distribution of funds to the flood victims in the respective branches, he said. Relief Commissioner Zahid Akhtar Zaman said that the biometric data and video records of the people receiving financial assistance from the Bank of Punjab are being taken and the Punjab government has increased financial assistance many times. The government of Punjab is distributing a huge amount of more than 12 billion rupees for relief, he added. The government is giving financial assistance of Rs.2 lakh for a destroyed concrete house,  two lakh rupees for a partially damaged concrete house and 50 thousand rupees is being given for the partial damage of the mud house. He said that the government is redressing the losses of cattle and crops and financial assistance is also being given to the people who are disabled or injured due to floods. He said that immediate rehabilitation of flood-affected people is the top priority and PDMA is also ensuring the provision of guidelines for the sustainable construction of flood-affected houses. He added that the Punjab government is continuing to work on the rehabilitation of flood-affected roads, bridges and canals.
