An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman regarding the functionalization of the district offices of the four newly created districts of Murree, Kot Addu, Wazirabad and Tallaghang. In the meeting Secretary Revenue Mehr Shafqatullah Mushtaq, Director Development Punjab, DG PLRA, Ikramul Haque and other officers attended. Commissioner Gujarat Division, DC Murree, DC Kot Addu, DC Wazirabad and DC Talagang participated in the meeting through video link. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts informed the Senior Member Board of Revenue about the problems faced in the new districts.
Speaking on this occasion, Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman said that the aim of the newly created districts by the Punjab government is to provide basic facilities to the citizens at their doorsteps. He issued instructions to the Deputy Commissioners. It was said that officers should be immediately appointed in the new districts and a basic setup should be prepared. He said that Deputy Commissioners have been appointed in the four newly formed districts and they are starting to provide government services to the citizens by giving additional charge to the officers of the nearby districts. He issued instructions to the concerned Deputy Commissioners. He said that for the construction of new buildings PC 1 should be sent to the Board of Revenue as soon as possible and the construction work of district complexes, district offices and residential buildings should be started in the new districts.He said that the newly constructed government buildings. The maps should be prepared according to the modern style and the construction of old style buildings should be avoided. He said that special arrangements should be made for sitting of the citizens coming to the newly constructed government buildings so that the citizens can sit in any government office. No need to stand, lift should be arranged for the disabled and senior citizens.
