A meeting of the committee established to address farmers' issues was held at the DC Office in Faisalabad, chaired by Provincial Minister of Industry and Trade, Agriculture SM Tanveer and Commissioner Saulat Saeed.
During the meeting, updates on the progress made in resolving these issues were shared. It was highlighted that effective measures are underway to ensure the availability of high-quality fertilizers and seeds at fixed rates. Moreover, efforts are being made to provide canal water to farmers and resolve pending sugarcane dues. Regular meetings of the Agricultural Advisory Committee are also being held to maintain close communication with farmers.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister SM Tanveer emphasized that the welfare of farmers and finding solutions to their problems is of utmost importance. He acknowledged the efforts of the commissioner in addressing division-level issues faced by farmers and highlighted that steps are being taken to address provincial-level concerns as well. He commended the committee's establishment for contributing to an increased rate of problem-solving for farmers, which has been well-received by the farming community. The minister expressed satisfaction with the performance of the relevant departments.
Agri Director Ch. Abdul Hameed provided a briefing on the measures being taken. Representatives from various farmer-related departments, including livestock, irrigation, industries, and agricultural marketing participated in the meeting.
