Chairperson CPWB Inaugurates New Child Protection Unit Building in Kasur

The inauguration of the Child Protection Unit building in Kasur was marked by the presence of Chairperson Child Protection & Welfare Bureau Sarah Ahmad, along with Director General Aftab Ahmed Khan, representatives from the Building Department, and others.

During her speech at the event, Sarah Ahmad highlighted that the construction of the Child Protection Unit in Kasur commenced in November 2021 at Kutchery Road. She mentioned that the child protection office has been operating in Kasur since 2019, providing assistance and protection to children in need.

Sarah Ahmad expressed her gratitude to the chief secretary, ACS (Home) and line departments for their cooperation in the endeavor. She further noted that the construction of the Child Protection Unit in Kasur was completed within a year and a half, at a total cost of 34 million rupees. Additionally, she mentioned that similar units have been established in 25 districts, with the construction of their offices nearing completion.

Sarah Ahmad emphasized the CPWB's commitment to extending the scope of its services to all districts, ensuring effective protection of children's rights across the 36 districts. This expansion aims to create a safe social environment that safeguards children from exploitation, she concluded.
