Chairperson CPWB Sensitizes SHOs About Child Protection

Chairperson of the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau Sarah Ahmad delivered a keynote lecture to a gathering of 500 police Station House Officers (SHOs) from all over the province at the Police Training College Sihala. In her lecture, she provided a comprehensive overview of the child protection mechanism and the proactive steps taken by the CPWB in this domain.

The primary objective of this lecture was to raise awareness among the SHOs regarding child protection laws and the vital role played by the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau. The collaborative efforts between the CPWB and the police are dedicated to creating a child-friendly province.

During her address, Sarah Ahmad underscored the crucial role of the police in ensuring the protection, recovery, and rights of children. As the first line of defense at the grassroots, the police play a pivotal role in safeguarding children's well-being, she noted.

She emphasized that the police hold the most significant responsibility in preventing incidents of violence and abuse against children. Consequently, SHOs received lectures in Lahore and were also taught about the importance of protecting children's rights at the Police Training College in Sihala, contributing towards Punjab's transformation into a child-friendly province. The training equips them to handle cases of violence and abuse against children with utmost priority and sensitivity.

Through their joint efforts, the CPWB and the police will continue to provide protection and immediate assistance to children in need. Sarah Ahmad also addressed questions raised by participants regarding children's safety and rescue.

Commandant Ashfaq Ahmad and other police officers were also present, who also presented an overview of the measures undertaken to safeguard children's rights.
