The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab, while taking action on complaints, received at Regional Offices at district level, provided relief on the complainants to the tune of Rs. 3 Crore 52 Lac 37 thousand 2 hundred and 99, through different provincial departments.
In a statement issued today, the spokesman of the Ombudsman Punjab informed that stuck up scholarship’s amounting to Rs.6 Lac 72 Thousand were paid to the students on the direction of Ombudsman Punjab. More over a relief has also been provided to the complainants, on the direction of Ombudsman Punjab, including Rs.19 Lac 60 Thousand under the head of family pensions, Rs.85 Lac 53 thousand 563 for repair and maintenance of building, Rs.17 Lac 73 Thousand 3 Hundred 14 for payments of outstanding rents, Rs.6 Lac 70 thousand rupees as death grants, Rs.36 Lac 57 Thousand 505regarding creation of OSD posts, Rs.13 Lac 75 Thousand to clear the pending liabilities of Government contractor.
The spokesman further approved that Ombudsman Office ensured reimbursement of Rs.9 Lacs regarding group insurance, Rs.5 Lac 77 thousand 7 hundred and 30 pertaining to traveling allowance and Rs.1 Lac 73 thousand to clear the security deposits of Government contractor. The encroached land worth Rs.1 Crore 22 Lac got cleared on the direction of Ombudsman Punjab and other financial relief of RS.3 Lac 9 hundred and 30 thousand was also provided to the complainants, concluded the spokesman.
