Lahore Police Cracks Down Against Miscreants

Lahore Police during a crackdown against miscreants on the eve of Independence Day arrested almost 64 individuals between August 13 and 14 and registered 62 cases of aerial firing and six cases of fireworks violations, resulting in the arrest of 7 individuals. Similarly, 388 accused were apprehended in 367 cases of one-wheeling and 22 individuals were arrested in relation to six cases of rowdyism, leading to legal actions taken.

In a statement, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana revealed that the arrest of accused involved in aerial firing led to the recovery of 2 Kalashnikovs, 1 gun, 1 7MM rifle, 45 pistols, 30 pistol magazines, 2 9MM pistols and 158 bullets. He further revealed that in the City Division, 22 cases of aerial firing were registered, 12 in Cantt Division, 8 in Civil Lines, 7 in Saddar Division, 9 in Iqbal Town Division, and 4 in Model Town Division. For fireworks, 1 case was registered in Cantt Division, 2 in Saddar Division, 2 in Iqbal Town Division, and 1 in Model Town Division.

Likewise, in City Division, there were 77 cases of one-wheeling, 65 in Cantt Division, 69 in Civil Lines Division, 36 in Saddar Division, 53 in Iqbal Town Division, and 67 in Model Town Division. He emphasized that Lahore Police is dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for the public, maintaining 24/7 operations to protect the citizens.
