A meeting was convened under the leadership of Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals, Ibrahim Murad, to discuss revenue generation and related departmental matters. During the meeting, Minister Ibrahim Murad expressed the ambition to generate 100 billion rupees in revenue from the Mines Department. To achieve this goal, an immediate development plan must be formulated. The mining sector has now taken a prominent place on the national agenda, with the government dedicating special attention to its growth.
Minister Ibrahim Murad also underscored the importance of conducting a fresh geological survey in Punjab to update the status of mineral resources. This initiative is expected to open doors for foreign investors and attract foreign direct investment to the province.
In addition, Ibrahim Murad highlighted plans for collaboration with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to secure investments for major projects within the Mines and Minerals Department. Notable attendees at the meeting included the Secretary of Mines and Minerals, Babar Aman Babar, and the Director-General of Mines and Minerals, among others.
