Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered strict monitoring of flour prices across the province. All the deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and price control magistrates have been directed to conduct field operations. Provincial Food Minister Bilal Yasin said that the Food Department is improving the market supply of flour and wheat. Instructions have been issued to take immediate action against artificial shortages or price hikes. Despite ample stocks of flour and wheat, attempts to increase prices are unnatural. Flour mills have been instructed to speed up the grinding process. The supply of flour has been increased in several districts, including the provincial capital. This increase in the supply of flour has led to a further decrease in prices, added the minister. The Provincial Minister for Food has directed the administration to remove all obstacles in providing possible relief to the people.
