Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated ‘Khelta Punjab Games’ 2025. The players accorded a warm reception to the Chief Minister on her arrival at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex. She visited the pavilion soon after her arrival. The divisional contingent of players presented marched past upon the arrival of CM Punjab. The contingent of Bahawalpur Division consisting of 256 players started the march past.
The CM got up from her seat, came in front of the pavilion and welcomed all the players by shaking her hands. Athlete Kinza Sarfraz started the march past by carrying a torch and Sharqa Habib presented the torch to the Chief Minister. The CM handed over the torch to swimmer Shadana Habib. Hockey team captain Shafique Ali Khan lit the Khelata Punjab torch.
The Chief Minister formally launched the ‘Khelata Punjab Games’ 2025 by making the traditional announcement. Tennis player Aisam-ul-Haq administered an oath to the players participating in the ‘Khelata Punjab Games’ 2025. CM Punjab commended each division by naming them and mingled among the players after the ceremony.
Former Olympian Khawaja Junaid, Javelin Thrower Arshad Nadeem, Weightlifter Nooh Dastgir Butt, former Kabaddi Champion Shafique and other prominent players especially attended the ceremony. Provincial Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar welcomed the distinguished guests in his address and gave details about ‘Khelata Punjab Games’ 2025.
