Multimodal Intercity Bus Terminals

The population of Lahore is around 10 million. More than three million people have migrated to Lahore for their livelihood. Presently 2 CDGL bus terminals - Badami Bagh and City Terminal on Bund Road and 9 D-Class bus stands are functional in Lahore. The existing  terminals lack basic facilities. Environmental pollution, stress, traffic congestion are major issues that are deteriorating the  overall transportation system in the city.

Through this initiative terminals will be established on three main corridors to Lahore:

  • Shahdara 
  • Thokar Niaz Beg
  • Ferozepur Road

These terminals will offer the following facilities:

  • Air conditioned waiting lounges
  • Commercial and business areas (shopping malls, restaurants, hotels,  entertainment facilities etc.)
  • Mosque, bank, lost & found office,
  • Communication facility, baggage check in system
  • Ticket booking/reservation booths/ Online booking
  • Separate departure & arrival areas
  • Public address system, public information system
  • Departure bays, parking for all types of transport,
  • Gender specific rest rooms
  • Facilities for handicaps
  • Rickshaw/taxi & urban transport stands
  • Workshops, washing/service areas
  • Gas filling stations, security system
  • Transport  company offices, driver training centers
  • Driver rest areas/lodges
  • Management offices, meeting auditorium
  • Vehicle inspection and certification centers
  • Other public utilities
